Summary

A Vacancy at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

To work in conjunction with the occupational therapy team to deliver a comprehensive programme of entertainment and leisure activities for the service users within Guild Lodge during evenings and weekends.

To participate as a member of the Social Activities Team, assisting with specified duties and take responsibility for his/her own work within the framework outlined and supervised by the Occupational Therapists. 

 

The purpose of the Hive (Out of Hours) is to offer year-round social and leisure facilities to the residents in the evening and at weekends – focusing on a broad selection of suitable adult activities.

You will be based in the Therapeutic Resources Centre (TRC) working in a team of other Social Activity Occupational Therapy Helpers and a Social Activity Coordinator, to deliver a comprehensive programme of recreation and leisure activities for the inpatients. We are looking for someone who is out-going, enthusiastic and highly motivated team player with strong initiative and highly developed organisational and communication skills. 

Experience working with people with mental health problems is desirable – but more importantly having the drive and motivation to work with people and come up with ideas is essential. 

You will be supported and trained to work within a secure environment. Personal development is encouraged through appraisal and regular supervision.
