Summary

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Web Designer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites that align with our business objectives and provide an exceptional user experience. The Web Designer will work closely with project managers, developers, marketing teams, and clients to understand project requirements, transform concepts into engaging digital experiences, and ensure websites meet modern design standards, accessibility requirements, and performance expectations. This role requires a strong understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) principles, branding, responsive design, and current web technologies.

The day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients and internal stakeholders to gather website requirements, planning website layouts and navigation structures, creating wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and visual concepts using industry-standard design tools. The Web Designer will design attractive web pages, landing pages, and digital assets while ensuring consistency with brand guidelines. They will optimise websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, improve page loading speed, and ensure compatibility across different browsers and platforms. The role also involves updating existing websites with new content, graphics, images, and functionality, maintaining website quality, identifying and resolving design issues, and implementing improvements based on user feedback and analytics.

The successful candidate will collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs, create graphics, icons, banners, and multimedia content for websites, and perform regular website testing to identify usability issues and maintain high performance. They will monitor website functionality, ensure accessibility compliance, support SEO-friendly design practices, and stay informed about emerging web design trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the quality of digital products. The Web Designer will also manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain clear project documentation, meet agreed deadlines, and communicate progress effectively with colleagues and clients.

Applicants should possess strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive web design, UI/UX principles, and modern content management systems such as WordPress. Experience with design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar tools is essential. Knowledge of website optimisation, accessibility standards, SEO fundamentals, and cross-browser compatibility is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have excellent creativity, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A relevant qualification in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related discipline, together with practical experience in designing and maintaining professional websites, will be advantageous. The successful individual will demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions while contributing to the continued growth and success of the organisation.
