Summary
NW Recruitment Services Ltd are currently seeking two skilled and committed HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers who have worked with bulk trailers and curtainsiders and are looking to join a well-established transport operation with consistent work and excellent support.
The successful candidates will undertake nationwide deliveries, ensuring goods are transported safely, legally and on schedule. Drivers will be expected to maintain high standards of vehicle care, compliance and customer service while representing the business in a professional manner. This position operates on a 4-on, 4-off tramping rota with regular overnight stays.
Pay & benefits:
• £15.22 per hour (weekly pay on a Friday for previous weeks hours).
• £26.20 night allowance (& expenses, paid weekly and directly by site).
• 5th day working at 1.5 x overtime rate - £22.83 per hour
• 28 days holiday per year (please note holiday cannot be taken during the peak season from August until the end of October).

Key responsibilities:
• Drive Class 1 articulated vehicles, including bulk trailers and curtainsiders, in line with transport legislation and company standards.
• Carry out routine pre-use and end-of-shift vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or maintenance issues without delay.
• Ensure all loads are correctly secured, protected and delivered safely to customer locations.
• Assist with loading and unloading duties where required, including operating a forklift if appropriately authorised.
• Accurately complete delivery documentation, defect reports and any required transport records.
• Keep regular communication with the transport office, customers and site contacts regarding delivery progress or unforeseen delays.
• Follow all relevant Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, tachograph and health & safety requirements at all times.
• Present a professional image and provide excellent customer service during every delivery.
Additional Information Hours & working pattern
• £15.22 per hour (weekly pay on a Friday for previous weeks hours).

• Average 45 driving hours per week in line with assimilated rules.
• Standard 5-day tramping pattern (2 weeks long shifts / 2 weeks short shifts).
• Some waiting at customer sites (overnight stays required).
Vehicles & equipment
• Allocated lorry (tracked) for your own use.
• Vehicles fitted with fridges and microwaves.
• Three fuel cards provided per HGV (filled on last day, as close to site as possible).
• Secure access to customer sites via fob, electric gate or mobile app (site dependent).
• 24/7 mechanic and breakdown support, including national helpline for blow-outs and tow-home cover.
• Flexibility to use preferred overnight stops, driver-familiar locations or company-recommended parking facilities.
