Summary

Salary - £25,470 per annum, pro rata for part-time (£13.70 per hour)

Hours - Full-time, 35.75 hours per week

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to join our Lifeguard / Leisure Attendant (Wet) teams.

What You’ll Do:

- Deliver an exceptional experience for every customer, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.

- Lifeguard vigilantly, supervising pool users and responding to emergencies per our

- Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan.

- Set up our facilities and equipment for events and customer use.

- Keep everything clean, safe, and presentable, including litter picking, cleaning toilets, changing rooms, windows, etc.

- Welcome customers, handle enquiries, record visits, and stay informed about our products and services.

- Complete 1 hour of monthly training and re-sit the NPLQ exam every 2 years.

Opportunities available:

- Royal Commonwealth Pool - Permanent, full-time - 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, a mix of early & late shifts & weekends. Earliest start 05:15 & latest finish 22:00. Working 1 out of 4 weekends)

- Leith Victoria Swim Centre- Permanent, full-time - 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, a mix of early & late shifts & weekends. Earliest start 05:30 & latest finish 21:15. Working 1.5 out of 8 weekends)

- Wester Hailes High School - Permanent, full-time - 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, a mix of early & late shifts & weekends. Earliest start06:30 & latest finish 22:00. Working every second weekend)

The assessment process will take place on Tuesday, 18th of August 2026 and will include an interview at Jack Kane Sports Centre and a swim test at the Royal Commonwealth Pool. Candidates invited to interview should be prepared to attend both venues on the day. Due to limited spaces available on the day, we will contact successful candidates to book a time slot.
