Qualified Rural Surveyor - Newcastle - £70,000 + Benefits

The Job:

This is an excellent opportunity for an MRICS qualified surveyor to join an established and highly respected team, providing advice across a broad spectrum of rural property matters including estate management, landlord and tenant issues, valuations, diversification projects, compensation and strategic business planning.

Working closely with rural clients, you will help them navigate challenges, identify opportunities and maximise the value of their assets, while developing your career within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a varied portfolio of rural estates, farms and landholding

- Provide advice on estate management, diversification and strategic business planning

- Undertake landlord and tenant work including new lettings, rent reviews and tenancy renewals for both AHA and FBT agreements

- Prepare accurate valuations and professional reports in accordance with RICS standards

- Act on behalf of clients in the sale and acquisition of property, land, farms and estates

- Oversee the management of residential, commercial, agricultural and sporting property

- Negotiate compensation and compulsory purchase matters for landowners across a range of infrastructure projects

- Build and maintain strong professional and client relationships

- Identify and secure new business opportunities and professional instructions

- Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development and performance

The Candidate:

- MRICS accredited Rural Surveyor

- Strong practical agricultural knowledge with a genuine interest in farming and rural business

- Experience across rural property management, valuations, landlord and tenant matters and compensation work

- Excellent communication, negotiation and client relationship skills

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a busy multidisciplinary team

- Strong organisational skills with a proactive, commercially aware and professional approach

- Thorough understanding of compliance requirements and professional procedures

- Experience engaging with a broad range of rural clients and providing clear, reasoned advice

- Ability to identify opportunities for business development and generate new client instructions

- Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues desirable

- Full clean UK driving licence
