Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding role supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming specialist education setting in Ashburton, Devon. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism (ASD), ADHD, and associated learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment.

The school is located in a rural area, so access to your own vehicle is highly recommended, as public transport options are limited.

There may also be flexibility around school-friendly working hours, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to fit work around family or childcare commitments.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will:

Deliver planned lessons and interventions in the absence of the class teacher where required.

Provide 1:1 support and lead small group interventions.

Support teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning.

Work closely with pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD and ADHD.

Implement positive behaviour strategies (PRICE or TeamTeach experience is desirable).

Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

Help create a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
