Summary

We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to join the Epidemic Diseases Clinical Research Group (ERGO), led by Professor Sir Peter Horby. The ERGO Group is based within the Pandemic Sciences Institute and conducts internationally significant clinical research on epidemic and pandemic infections. Its portfolio includes clinical trial, observational studies, diagnostics and pathogenesis research.

The ERGO Administrative Assistant is a new role providing high-quality administrative support across the ERGO group, with a particular focus on the PARTNERS trial. As the first point of contact for enquiries and visitors, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the team by coordinating meetings and diaries, arranging UK and international travel, supporting the practical arrangements for new starters and visitors, including building access and induction schedules, and assisting with purchasing, finance and document approval processes.

Working closely with the wider administrative and trial teams, you will maintain accurate and confidential records, support collaboration across multiple partners and time zones, prepare meeting documentation and minutes, and ensure administrative processes are delivered efficiently and in line with university and departmental procedures. This varied role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities while building effective working relationships with colleagues, visitors, and national and international collaborators to support the successful delivery of the group's research activities.
