Job Overview
Job Title: TIG Welder
Location: Banbridge (BT32 3QD)
Pay Rate: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour
(dependent on experience)
Contract Duration: Temporary
(Minimum 8 weeks, with possibility of going Permanent)
Working Hours: ~39 hours per week
Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 15:00
(Enjoy an early start to your weekend!)
Overtime: Potential overtime available
Holidays: 30 days per year
(inclusive of Bank Holidays)
Background Check: Basic DBS check required
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality, precise TIG welding and fabrication tasks in accordance with engineering/blueprint drawings and company procedures.
Fabricate pipework sections using black iron and stainless steel to the highest quality standards.
Prepare weld surfaces, manage welding equipment/consumables, and conduct thorough pre- and post-weld visual quality checks.
Undergo on-site practical weld testing to qualify to specific company procedures.
Safely operate hand and power tools common to the fabrication and welding trade.
Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, ensuring correct PPE and extraction equipment are used at all times.
Maintain high standards of workplace cleanliness, housekeeping, and continuous operational improvement.
Essential Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on TIG welding and pipework fabrication experience.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and work on your own initiative.
Materials: Competent in welding/fabricating with black iron and stainless-steel pipe.
Practical Testing: Ability to pass an on-site practical weld test.
Vetting: Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check.
Attributes: High attention to detail, excellent work ethic, and a commitment to safe working habits.
