Local community-based role - Ashington

Hours: 5 hours every Saturday

Rate of Pay: £14.67

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to join an established team providing 2:1 support for an 11-year-old boy with Autism.

This rewarding role focuses on enabling a young person to access and enjoy a range of age-appropriate leisure and social activities within the local community, helping him build confidence, independence, and life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Main Duties:

  • Supporting access to leisure, recreational, and community activities
  • Encouraging social interaction and engagement with others
  • Assisting with communication and developing social skills
  • Providing support with personal care when required
  • Responding positively, calmly, and sensitively to changes in behaviour
  • Working collaboratively as part of an experienced support team to ensure the child's needs are met
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience of supporting children or young people with Autism and/or additional needs
  • A patient, understanding, and positive approach Confidence in managing and responding appropriately to behavioural changes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
