Temporary Vacancy
We are looking for a hands on, switched on finance professional to support our busy manufacturing finance team during a period of high activity. If you enjoy variety, love getting stuck into data, and feel proud of keeping things running smoothly, this role will suit you perfectly.
You'll work closely with our Financial Controller helping to keep reporting sharp, processes tidy, and the numbers flowing. This is a role for someone who is advanced with Excel, comfortable in a manufacturing environment, and happy balancing meaningful analysis with practical day to day tasks.
Key roles and responsibilities for our Finance Assistant
- Supporting our commercial FP&A work - analysing margins, trends, volumes, and performance
- Working with production and operations teams to understand cost drivers and data flows
- Helping improve and streamline spreadsheets, reports, and processes
- Preparing and maintaining key daily/weekly/monthly reports
- Assisting with stock, costings, and manufacturing reconciliations
- Inputting purchase invoices and supporting transactional finance regularly
- Getting involved in ad hoc projects, problem solving, and continuous improvement
- Spotting opportunities for automation or simplification (Power Query, better formulas, cleaner templates - anything that makes life easier)
Minimum requirements for Finance Assistant
- Strong Excel skills - confident with formulas and tidy data
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (finance, stock, costings, or data)
- A practical, can do attitude - happy to roll sleeves up and help wherever needed
- Comfortable working with numbers, data sets, and commercial information
- Someone who enjoys improving processes, not just following them
- Reliable, organised, and able to pick things up quickly
- No ego - just a good human who takes pride in doing a great job
- Part qualified CIMA/ACCA, experienced manufacturing accounts clerks, or strong finance assistants are all welcome - we care more about capability and attitude than job titles.
Working arrangements
Monday to Friday
This role is primarily office based due to system access and equipment availability. You'll be part of a friendly, supportive team who value collaboration and clear communication.
