Summary

Main Duties and Responsibilities Undertake phlebotomy (venepuncture) and collect patient samples. Assist with wound care and simple dressings (training will be provided if required). Carry out NHS Health Checks and support health promotion. Support the Practice Nurse with long-term condition reviews and delegated clinical tasks. Record clinical observations, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturations, height, weight and BMI. Perform ECGs, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), urinalysis and point-of-care testing, where trained. Administer vaccinations and injections, where appropriately trained and competent. Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, equipment and stock. Maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne. Support GPs and Practice Nurses with clinical procedures and patient care. Promote health and wellbeing through patient education and signposting. Adhere to infection prevention and control policies. Participate in mandatory training, audits and quality improvement activities. Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.
