Summary

Participate in robotic-assisted surgical (RAS) procedures and contribute to all aspects of pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care under the direct, indirect, and proximal supervision of Consultant Surgeons. Support the training and development of Registrars in robotic surgery across Urology specialties, including undertaking and teaching the bedside assistant role. Actively contribute to the training, competency assessment, and ongoing development of Surgical Registrars and Surgical First Assistants (SFAs). Contribute to the strategic review, development, and continuous improvement of clinical services through active participation within the multidisciplinary team. Lead on the implementation of a clearly defined, integrated approach to patient care, promoting innovative treatments and evidence-based practice to achieve high standards of clinical excellence. Work collaboratively with patients, their families, and the wider multidisciplinary team to support shared decision-making and ensure care is person-centred and aligned with individual needs and preferences. Provide operational and professional leadership for the Surgical First Assistant team, including responsibility for training and development, continuing professional development (CPD), competency maintenance, attendance management, and workforce planning.
