Summary
The stroke patient pathway is an integral part of the Barts Healths policy to deliver high quality modern stroke care is delivered on 3 sites: Royal London Hospital (RLH), Whipps Cross University Hospital (WXUH) and Newham Hospital. At the RLH site there is a Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) with 12 monitored beds for acute Thrombolysis and Thrombectomy and 14 acute stroke unit beds. The Newham ASU has 14 beds and the ASU at Whipps has 19 beds. There are specialist Stroke MDTs and TIA clinics on all three sites and early supported discharge teams.
