Summary
We are looking for a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to provide support to a gentleman living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in the Balmullo area of Fife.
This is a rewarding role where you will help with PEG feeding, administering medication, and supporting with the washing, cleaning and organisation of essential care equipment.
Although our client is non-verbal, he fully understands what is being said to him. Companionship is therefore an important part of this role, and the right person will be comfortable chatting, engaging and providing friendly reassurance.
He has a real interest in sport, especially football, and would enjoy spending time with someone who can talk with him about sport, current events and what is happening in the wider world. An interest in sport would be a welcome bonus.
Support is required three days per week, preferably Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, for 3 hours each day. These hours will be provided on a respite basis every two months, with additional regular hours available. This opportunity would suit someone who is not looking for a full-time position but would value a flexible and fulfilling role supporting an individual and their family.
This role requires an enhanced PVG check through the Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Support with PEG feeding and administration of medication
· Wash, clean and keep care equipment tidy and organised
· Provide companionship, conversation and friendly reassurance
