Summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and motivatedBand 6 Senior Dietitianto join our acute adult dietetic team in a permanent role across surgical and gastroenterology specialties. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills while supporting high-quality, patient-centred care across a varied inpatient caseload.

Working closely with the surgical team lead, nutrition team and wider MDT, the post holder will provide specialist nutritional assessment, treatment and management for complex surgical, orthopaedic, gastroenterology and medical patients, including those requiring enteral or parenteral nutrition.

The caseload includes upper and lower GI surgery, vascular, colorectal, hepatobiliary, ICU step-down patients and a range of gastrointestinal conditions such as IBD, liver disease, IBS, functional gut disorders and pancreatic insufficiency. The role is primarily inpatient focused, with some outpatient clinic work and opportunities to contribute to audit, service development and research.

• Provide specialist dietetic assessment, treatment and management for surgical, orthopaedic, gastroenterology and complex medical patients across inpatient and outpatient settings

• Independently manage a clinical caseload, including patients requiring enteral or parenteral nutrition, using behavioural change techniques and motivational interviewing to support self-management

• Work as an integral member of the MDT, representing dietetics in meetings, clinical governance and collaborative care planning

• Contribute to audit, quality improvement, research and service development, including ongoing work within IBD, eating disorders and hepatology

• Support education and training for ward staff, junior staff, students and assistants as appropriate
