Location: Altcar Training Camp. Hightown, L38 7JD Pay rate: £12.71 per hour Contract type: Permanent, zero-hour contract, as required Shift pattern: As required

As a Kitchen Assistant at Altcar Training Camp, you'll be part of a dedicated team delivering great food and service to military personnel, reservists, cadets and visitors. To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements:  you must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to work and must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

What you’ll do: 

- Work with a team of chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals 3 times a day. You will be supervising and assisting enhanced inmates in the kitchen unit. 

- You will be responsible for the preparation of basic quality foods within a set pre-ordered menu. 

- Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy, and all stock checks are carried out correctly. 

- Fill in all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms. 

- Be an excellent team player and be able to deal with conflict if it arises. 

- Undertake relevant training as required. 

What we’re looking for: 

- Resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have the legal right to work in the UK. 

- The ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks. 

- Previous supervisory skills. 

- Relevant culinary qualification. 

- Experience working in a large-scale kitchen.
