Exciting Opportunity for a Full-time SEND HLTA in West Drayton, Greater London
Our client, a highly regarded educational institution in West Drayton, Greater London, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Full-time SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and personal development of students with diverse special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The SEND HLTA position offers a competitive salary range of £120 - £140 per day, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and compassionate individual who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.
As the SEND HLTA, you will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of SEND, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges
- Implementing individualised learning programmes and interventions to help students reach their full potential
- Assisting with the delivery of lessons and adapting resources to meet the diverse needs of the students
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, and contributing to the assessment and review process
- Offering emotional and social support to students, and helping to develop their independent living and life skills
- Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and working closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant SEND HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of SEND, including the latest teaching and learning strategies
- Proven experience working with students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the personal and academic growth of every student
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the students
- A valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
