Residential Support Worker

Location: Yeovil (BA22)

Salary: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Flexible | Shift-Based

We are currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a welcoming children's care home in the Yeovil (BA22) area.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in providing consistent care, guidance, and encouragement to help young people reach their full potential.

We are looking for individuals who can offer flexibility across a variety of shift patterns, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts where required.

- Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people

- Create a safe, positive, and structured living environment where young people can thrive

- Support daily routines, including education, activities, appointments, and the development of independent living skills

- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote wellbeing and personal growth

- Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations, using positive behaviour support strategies

- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each young person

- Maintain accurate records and contribute to individual care plans and progress reviews

- Have experience working with children or young people within residential care, education, youth work, or similar support settings (desirable)

- Are caring, patient, resilient, and committed to making a positive difference

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Can work flexibly across a variety of shift patterns

- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

- Hold a full UK driving licence (desirable, but not essential)
