Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Are you passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) achieve their full potential?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Lambeth. This rewarding opportunity offers the chance to work closely with pupils who have a range of additional learning needs, supporting them both academically and personally in a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Working alongside experienced teachers and the SENCO, you will play a vital role in helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and access the curriculum through personalised support.

- Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

- Support the delivery of engaging classroom activities that promote learning, confidence, and independence

- Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support strategies

- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development

- Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil, ensuring every child can access learning successfully

- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO

- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents, and external professionals

- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued

- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND, either within education or a similar setting

- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education

- Has a good understanding of a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and SEMH

- Communicates effectively and works well as part of a collaborative team

- Can build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining high expectations

- Is committed to supporting every child to achieve their individual goals
