Summary

Post: Personal Assistant/ Care Worker

Hours: 4 hours per week (can be flexible)

Rate of pay: £13.45 per hour gross

Description:

A personal assistant is required by a 73 year old man to improve his quality of life. Alex has progressive MS and is a wheelchair user and needs someone who can help him on two fronts; to navigate his digital life and make use of his small boat moored nearby. The person needs to have basic IT skills and be fairly practical and happy to support him to live an active and sociable life.

Tasks will include:

- assisting the supported person (Alex) to organise their social life around their progressively increasing condition;

- helping to manage Alex’s diary and his inbox and help him to project manage the demands on his time to help reduce fatigue and stress;

- helping Alex get into and out of the boat, providing practical support with small DIY tasks, preparing for and clearing up after activities with Alex in the boat such as making cups of tea, listening to music and sketching;

- any other duties commensurate with the role of a PA.

Full UK Driving Licence desirable but not essential.
