Summary

Job overview We are seeking an experienced clinical nurse specialist to join NELFT well establised core CEDS team. The role is fixed term for 10mths to provide maternity leave cover. This role supports the delivery of high-quality patient care to children and young people with an eating disorder. The post holder will work closely with MDT colleagues to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently. Detailed job description and main responsibilities This fixed term, maternity cover, post is a great opportunity to work with children, young people and their families as part of the well-established and innovative Lifespan Eating Disorder Service in North East London NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our highly skilled, dedicated and friendly team to work primarily with children and young people and their family and carers. We are seeking an individual who has an interest in working in eating disorders and is passionate about delivering good quality, patient-led, care to young people and families. The successful applicant will work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and will ideally have experience in delivering family-based treatment for eating disorders to children and young people and their families. The applicant will work as part of the MDT to provide NICE concordant interventions to young people and families with eating disorders and comorbid presentations. We will support candidates to develop skills in delivering evidence-based treatment. In addition, our team has pioneered the integration of Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) for eating disorders within the UK. The post holder will be actively involved in assessing and managing clinical risk associated with eating disorders, including performing and interpreting specific investigations, such as blood pressure and ECGs. Further training will be provided as required, including training in phlebotomy. The post holder will be responsible for managing their own workload, prioritising tasks effectively, and ensuring deadlines are met. They will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to high standards. The role may involve working across multiple sites and requires excellent communication and organisational skills. Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, CEME) This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
