Shape the People Experience on Some of the UK's Largest Infrastructure Projects

Are you an HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, solving complex people challenges and making a real impact in an operational environment?

We're recruiting for a People Advisor on behalf of a leading industrial services organisation supporting some of the UK's most significant infrastructure, energy, engineering and defence projects. As the business continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative People team where you'll play a key role in supporting managers, influencing positive employee outcomes and helping shape an engaging workplace culture.

If you enjoy variety, thrive in a fast-paced environment and want a role where your expertise genuinely makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

Working across Devonport & Hinkley Point C, you will partner with operational managers to provide practical, commercially focused HR support to a predominantly site-based workforce.

Employee Relations will be a core part of your role, managing a varied caseload while coaching managers to confidently handle people matters. You will also contribute to wider People initiatives, continuous improvement projects and recruitment activities, ensuring the People function delivers an excellent service across the business.

No two days will be the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

    • Provide proactive HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across multiple sites.

    • Manage Employee Relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, conduct and performance matters.

    • Support investigations and formal meetings, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.

    • Build trusted relationships with operational leaders and coach managers through a range of people matters.

    • Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with current employment legislation.

    • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation in line with GDPR requirements.

    • Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities where required.

    • Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing and continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance the employee experience.

    About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams and can confidently build relationships across all levels of the business.

      • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or People Advisor role.

      • Strong Employee Relations experience, managing cases independently from start to finish.

      • Experience supporting operational, industrial, engineering, construction or manufacturing workforces would be highly advantageous.

      • A solid understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.

      • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

      • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

      • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards qualification), or equivalent experience.

      • A full UK Driving Licence and flexibility to travel between Devonport & Hinkley Point C.

      Why Join?

This is an opportunity to become part of a well-established organisation that values its people and is committed to supporting your professional growth. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, gain exposure to major infrastructure projects and have the autonomy to make a genuine impact within the business.

      Salary & Benefits

Alongside a competitive salary you will receive an excellent benefits package including:

      Financial Benefits

        • Competitive salary, reviewed annually.

        • Company pension with a minimum 5% employee contribution and 7.5% employer contribution.

        • Annual discretionary company bonus scheme.

        • Long service awards.

        • Life assurance of three times your annual salary.
