We have an exciting opportunity for join our Estates Department at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) .
We have an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance Assistant (mechanical/electrical/building) to assist higher skilled grades on new work, maintenance and repairs as required within East Suffolk & North Essex (ESNEFT) properties.
You will be based at Colchester Hospital (travel to other ESNEFT sites will be required as and when required) and requires a highly motivated, dependable and flexible person with good communication and interpersonal skills, who is capable of working to a high standard with minimum supervision.
You will carry out Portable appliance testing on a regular basis.
Core Mechanical Responsibilities:
• Replace toilet seat
• Unblock toilets (First Call)
• Unblock sinks (First Call)
• Replace shower head/hose
• Shower PPM (Head Clean & Temp Check)
• Thermostatic Mixing Valve PPM (Strainer & Temp Check)
• General Ward Plumbing PPM (Visual)
• Clean ventilation grills and mushroom outlets
• Replace fire extinguishers
• Plant Monitoring including the identification and reporting of faults.
• Filter Changing
Core Electrical Responsibilities:
• Replace lamps
• Replace fluorescent tubes
• Clean light fittings and diffusers
• Adjust clocks
• Portable Appliance Testing
• Fire alarm Testing
• Nurse call Handset replacements
Core Building Responsibilities:
• Remove/replace ceiling tiles
• Minor vinyl flooring repairs
• Minor repairs of damaged plasterwork
• Minor repairs of damaged paintwork
• Minor repairs of damaged wall tiles and grouting
• Re-fix panels in wards
• Minor repair of window blinds
• Minor repair of bedside lockers
• Fit paper towel holder/soap dispenser
• Fit notice boards
• Fit coat hooks
• Fix signs
• Fix pictures
• Painting and decorating
