Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Complex Needs Service, where, in addition to direct clinical work, the postholder will play an important role in supporting the wider review and evaluation of the complex emotional needs (CEN) offer in SWLSTG with the Trust CEN Clinical Lead. This will include gathering and analysing outcome data, undertaking audits, contributing to service evaluations, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and assisting with the development of recommendations to inform future service delivery. The successful candidate will therefore have opportunities to develop valuable skills in service review, evaluation, research and quality improvement alongside their clinical experience.

The postholder will also have the opportunity to support with specialist assessment and NICE-recommended treatments for adults with CEN in the community. The postholder will work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting psychological assessment, formulation, and scope for co-facilitation of group-based interventions.

Suitable applicants will have experience of working with adults with complex mental health needs and will demonstrate an understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist qualified psychologists and therapists in the gathering and analysis of information relevant to psychological assessment and formulation.

Undertake protocol-based assessments under supervision, including psychometric, cognitive, behavioural and outcome measures.

Support the delivery of evidence-based interventions as directed by a qualified psychologist or therapist.

Co-facilitate therapeutic groups and psychoeducational programmes.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with Trust policies and professional standards.

Participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding service users' care and risk management plans.

Assist in identifying and monitoring service user outcomes using agreed measures.

Service User and Carer Support:

Provide information and psychoeducation to service users, carers and family members as appropriate.

Support service users to engage with planned interventions and treatment pathways.

Promote recovery, independence, social inclusion and strengths-based approaches.

Research, Audit and Evaluation:

Assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of audits and service improvement projects.

Collect, analyse and present quantitative and qualitative data relating to service performance and outcomes.

Conduct literature searches, reviews and evidence summaries to support clinical practice and service development.

Support research activities under the supervision of qualified psychologists.

Professional Responsibilities:

Work within the Trust's policies, procedures and governance frameworks.

Maintain confidentiality and information governance standards at all times.

Participate in regular clinical supervision and appraisal processes.

Attend relevant team meetings, reflective practice sessions and mandatory training.
