Job description
Role Summary
The post holder will deliver high-quality care to patients with oral and maxillofacial conditions, with a particular focus on head and neck cancer. The role includes clinical, administrative, teaching, and leadership responsibilities within the Head & Neck and Maxillofacial teams.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
• Provide high-quality care to oral, maxillofacial and head & neck cancer patients.
• Participate in the 2-week wait cancer pathway, running a dedicated parallel clinic with a consultant.
• Attend and actively contribute to Head & Neck MDT meetings and post-MDT clinics.
• Ensure patients are appropriately staged and listed for MDT discussion within required timeframes.
• Manage the weekly major head & neck theatre list.
• Undertake middle-grade duties on the maxillofacial rota.
• Train in all aspects of maxillofacial and head & neck cancer surgery, including tumour resection and reconstruction.
• Maintain good communication with patients to support shared decision-making.
