Summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Night Shift Supervisor to join a busy and growing waste, recycling and processing operation in Newport.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong operational, engineering and people management skills to take responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the facility during the night shift.

The Role:

As Night Shift Supervisor, you will take full responsibility for the operation of the facility during your shift, ensuring production, quality, safety and performance targets are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

. Lead and manage all night shift operations to ensure maximum productivity and operational efficiency.

. Supervise, support and develop production staff, promoting a positive and high-performing team culture.

. Ensure production targets, quality standards and operational KPIs are achieved.

. Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to maximise throughput and minimise downtime.

. Complete all shift reports, documentation and operational records accurately and on time.

. Maintain effective communication with the General Manager and Production

. Manager regarding performance, issues and improvement opportunities.

. Troubleshoot operational and mechanical issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

. Conduct effective shift handovers to ensure continuity between teams.

. Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work are adhered to at all times.

. Support staff training and development to meet current and future operational requirements.

. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

. Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, organised and safe working environment.

. Ensure company resources are utilised efficiently to achieve optimum operational performance and cost control.

. Champion company policies, procedures and best practices throughout the operation.

Qualifications

The following qualifications would be advantageous:

. NEBOSH qualification.

. COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence).

. Operator certificates for Loading Shovels, Material Handlers, Counterbalance Forklifts, Telehandlers and MEWPs/Genie Booms.
