Are you looking to develop your career in OT while making a real difference to children and families? Our Band 6 rotation offers excellent opportunities to develop specialist skills, broaden your experience and build your future in paediatric occupational therapy. Working across inpatient and outpatient services, you will support children in wards, clinics, schools and at home. You will gain experience across a range of specialist areas including Rheumatology, Chronic Pain, Neurology, PICU, Neuromuscular, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Neurodevelopmental Babies, and General Medicine & Surgery. The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, HCPC registration, experience of working as an OT with children or in a relevant clinical specialty, able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and effectively prioritise their workload within a busy clinical environment. What you will bring to the role Manage autonomously a clinical workload at a specialist level: assessing and treating patients and maintaining associated records. Provide a patient-focused service following the Occupational Therapy process (screen referrals, assess and plan treatment programmes, implement and evaluate treatment programmes, monitor and discharge) and using Occupational Therapy core skills. Develop and apply specialist knowledge, gained from past experience, on the job experience and specialist training. Supervise and support Occupational Therapists. Delegate work to, supervise and support Occupational Therapy Support Staff. Supervise and educate Occupational Therapy Students. Act as a specialist Occupational Therapy resource for colleagues, carers and patients. Deputise for Band 7. Be actively involved in team and service developments including audit and research.
