Summary
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. The successful applicant must be available to participate in 1-2 visits per day and one on call session per 2/3 weeks. Duties include: Provide comprehensive, high-quality general medical services to registered patients. Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations as appropriate. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with current clinical guidance. Prescribe safely and effectively within national and local prescribing policies. Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, healthcare assistants, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribers and care coordinators. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne. Contribute to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in accordance with local and national policies. Support health promotion, disease prevention and patient education. Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews and quality improvement initiatives. Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other contractual requirements where appropriate. Maintain professional registration, appraisal and revalidation requirements.
