Summary

Job Title Welding Engineer

Summary We’re looking for an experienced Welding Engineer to lead welding activities and drive continuous improvement across site operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional who thrives in managing welding coordination and ensuring compliance with recognised standards. Location and Working Pattern On-site | 39 hours per week

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate welding activities across the site

- Act as the Responsible Welding Coordinator to ensure compliance with standards

- Develop, implement, and improve the site-wide welding management system

- Investigate welding defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions

- Provide technical support to production and engineering teams

- Create and maintain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)

- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards

- Contribute to FMEA, Control Plans, and Engineering Change processes

Must-have Requirements

- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (BEng/BSc)

- Certified International/European Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE)

- Prior experience in a similar Welding Engineer role

- Background in Engineering, Oil & Gas, or Renewables sectors

- Strong knowledge of welding systems and processes

- Experience with manufacturing environments using large-scale equipment and semi-automated welding technologies

- Specialist knowledge of Weld Procedure Specifications

- Practical experience with welding techniques including:

- FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)

- GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)

- Submerged Arc Welding

- Understanding of FMEA, Control Plans, and Engineering Change processes

- Working knowledge of ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001

Nice-to-have Skills

- Experience in developing advanced welding technologies

- Exposure to continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
