Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the hospital, which can be arranged by contacting: Dr Vishal Borse Spinal Surgeon vishal.borse@nhs.net INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD: 11th August 2026 Why you should join our Team The Spinal Unit in Leeds is a busy regional spinal unit receiving more than 100 new referrals per week covering a population of over 2.5 million. The post-holder will be contributing to the duties of both elective admissions and acute spinal surgery on-call cover including supporting the regional Major Trauma Centre which is based in the LGI. . What you will bring to the role The clinical work will involve managing a wide range of spinal conditions including deformity, lumbar and cervical degenerative conditions, trauma, infection and tumour. Opportunities will also be available to gain experience in the management of spinal injuries patients at the LGI. Research work will involve a main project and there will be an expectation to achieve at least one publication in a peer reviewed journal. It is planned for the post to be 80% clinical and 20% research. Any candidate who is unavailable, for personal reasons, to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modifications of the job plan will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust’s in-consultation.
