Summary

The post holder will lead the programme of multiple, complex,andinterconnectedprojectsandserviceredesign across our sites. You will take the lead role in planning, supporting, facilitating, and monitoring the performance and progress of this programme. You will manage a specific portfolio of projects, monitoring interdependencies and resources to ensure efficient delivery of the programme.You will be responsible for working closely with CMG triumvirates, CorporateMedical andNursing,Capital ProjectManagers, Workforce and Finance Leads, and Strategy colleagues to ensure timely delivery of projects.

You will bean enthusiast for deliveringimprovement, with the vision to see how healthcare will be delivered in new and different ways in coming years, and the expertise to ensureefficiencyopportunitiescanberealisedassoonaspossible.

As Improvement programme manager for Length of Stay and UEC Business Intelligence, responsibility for leading the delivery of the Improvement priorities related to theprogramme;engagingwithworkstream leads to deliver key objectives of the programme; and ensuring interdependencies between workstreams are clear and articulated; leading engagement with the clinical teams.

Supporting the Director of Emergency Care, Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Associate Director of Operationstoensurearobustscopeanddesignbriefiscreatedforeachproject in the programme, supporting any process that is necessary.

Interpretingnational guidelinesonbehalfofUHL;developingshort-,medium-and long-term strategic programme plans, including: service and performance improvement plans; complex and multifaceted business cases and business plans; individual project plans and stage plans that reflect national & localguidelines.

Supervising and analysing process mapping, benefits analysis and workload and performanceauditswithintheprogrammetoinputintothebusinesscaseprocess. A clearprojectplan,withclearandrealisticexpectationsintermsofdeliverables and the benefits.

Managingprojectandprogrammelinksandconnectivity;ensuringthatnoworkis either overlooked fromthe programme, or duplicated; ensuring the management of total programme-related risks, particularly those associated with interdependencies and links between projects; ensuring that risks and dependencies are managed to a successful outcome and that the impact of any changeis relatedback toits impact upon theoperational area ofimplementation, the programme and each individual project - this will requirerobustmanagement of exceptions, slippage, issues of priority, risk and resource allocation.

Managingandmonitoringtheprogramme’soverall progressanduseofresources. Ensuringthatoutputsandbenefitsdefinedwithintheprojectscopeandobjectives are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard of quality. Ensuringthatanyadverseprojectorprogrammechangesandtheirimpact are reported through the project governance and that corrective action is taken where necessary. Escalatinganyissuesthatcannotberesolvedatprogrammelevel.
