Grade UE07: £41,064 - £48,822 per annum

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed-term: from 1st January 2027 until 31st December 2027

The Opportunity:

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology is looking for a Teaching Fellow, to deliver and assess courses on the Archaeology undergraduate and Masters programmes.

Responsibilities include the role of Course Organiser for selected courses (including preparation and delivery of content and marking of assignments), contributions to co-taught courses, supervision and assessment of dissertation students, student support, contribution to the academic administration, and assisting in course and programme development.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise that bridges archaeological, heritage, environmental and policy perspectives, and who can contribute to the School's growing international profile in marine and coastal heritage, though we welcome applicants from a broad range of relevant backgrounds.

Your skills and attributes for success:

- Degree relevant to teaching area.

- Demonstrable ability to apply knowledge, skills and techniques to teaching and ability to understand the needs of a group and individual students and to provide appropriate guidance.

- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

- Specialist knowledge of the discipline/topics under discussion.

- Understanding of the principles of teaching, learning and assessment.
