Summary

As a band 7 radiographer you are tasked with providing a high standard of clinical work when carrying out radiographic procedures. 

You will be responsible for deputising in the modalities that you are working in and providing an expert level of knowledge in a fast-paced imaging department. 

Your duties in CT will vary from vetting outpatient requests and managing CT admin tasks, such as organising interventional procedures to ensuring the efficient service of the inpatient and outpatient scanners. Effective communication skills are vital due to the multidisciplinary nature of the work.

You will ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement. 

• To carry out radiographic examinations across a range of modalities to the agreed standard of the department. 

• To maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort and be patient focused at all times. 

• To liaise and communicate effectively with other staff both within and external to the department regarding patient care and ensure that effective communication is implemented and maintained. 

• To be actively involved in the department audit and quality assurance programme.

• To deputise for more senior radiographers as and when required.

• To undertake any formal or informal training required to fulfil the needs of the post. 

• To expand and update your own technical and professional skills. 

• To assist in the clinical instruction and assessment of student radiographers.
