Make a Difference While Having Fun

We’re looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to join the support team of an amazing 19-year-old young lady who lives life with enthusiasm and enjoys making the most of every opportunity.

She is a full-time wheelchair user with learning disabilities, complex health needs and is looking for someone who will support her to continue living an active, fulfilling and independent life. You’ll always work alongside a family member, ensuring safe, person-centred support while building a positive and enjoyable working relationship.

If you’re someone who enjoys getting out into the community, has a good sense of humour, and values helping others achieve their goals, we’d love to hear from you.

About Her

She loves:

• 🧱 Building with Lego

• 🎵 Listening to music

• 🍰 Cakes and baking treats

• 🌳 Outdoor walks and exploring new places

• 🏊 Swimming

• Spending time in the community and enjoying social activities

• Using her IPAD

She communicates using a communication aid, Makaton, and some spoken language. A willingness to learn her communication style is essential—experience is welcome but not necessary, as full training will be provided.

The Role

As her Personal Assistant, you will provide support with:

• Personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, skincare, hair and make-up

• Assistance with feeding

• Administration of medications and hydration via gastrostomy (full training provided)

• Safe moving and handling (full training provided)

• Supporting her to attend college, community activities, appointments and recreational outings

• Encouraging independence, choice and participation in everyday life

• Working closely with family members and following agreed care plans

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

• Kind, patient and compassionate

• Fun, positive and adaptable

• Keen to learn new skills

• Respectful of dignity, privacy and confidentiality

• Reliable and committed

• Confident working as part of a small team

• Happy to support an active lifestyle in the community

Essential Requirements

• Aged 18 years or over

• Willing to undertake all required training

• Prepared to complete an Enhanced DBS check (fully funded)

• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Experience in care is welcome but not essential. The right attitude, willingness to learn and a caring nature are what matter most.

Hours Available

We’re looking to expand the team with:

• Up to 16 hours per week during college/school holidays

• flexible hours available during term time

• Weekday, evening and weekend shifts available

Why Join the Team?

This is much more than a care role—it’s an opportunity to help a young woman continue enjoying everything she loves while enabling her independence, confidence and quality of life.

No two days are the same. One day you might be swimming, another building Lego creations, enjoying a walk outdoors, listening to music, or heading out into the community for an adventure.

If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely make a difference while having plenty of fun along the way, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and become part of a supportive team helping a remarkable young woman live life to the fullest.
