Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Fowey River Academy is seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, skilled and committed Teaching Assistants (TA) to join our friendly and dedicated team.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working in partnership with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals, you will deliver learning activities helping pupils to make excellent progress across the curriculum. You will assess and monitor learning, provide high-quality feedback to teachers, and adapt activities to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.

The role also involves supporting the development of pupils' confidence, independence and wellbeing, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need to flourish.

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

Takes a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of the pupils.

Supports the curriculum and the school through the provision of high level assistance to the teacher in the practical organisation of class activities, undertaking group work and ensuring the welfare and development of pupils.

Meets the needs of pupils with specific special educational needs, within a mainstream setting.

Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families, promoting high expectations and excellent behaviour.

Is an effective communicator, works well as part of a team.

Shares our passion for ensuring every child feels supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential.
