Summary

The post holder will provide specialist infection prevention and control (IPC) support across the organisation, working as part of the wider IPC team to promote high standards of practice and patient safety. They will act as a source of expert advice to clinical and non-clinical staff, supporting the implementation of national and local IPC guidance, investigation and management of infections and outbreaks, and promoting compliance with best practice. The role includes surveillance and analysis of infection data, delivery of education and training, and contribution to audit and quality improvement activity. The post holder will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections and support continuous service improvement.
