Summary

The Senior Clinical Fellow in Neonatology will support the delivery of a comprehensive tertiary neonatal service within the Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Noahs Ark Childrens Hospital for Wales, Cardiff. The post holder will provide high-quality clinical care to newborn infants requiring intensive, high dependency and special care, participating in a full shift rota including evenings, nights and weekends. Key responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis and management of neonates; attendance at high-risk deliveries; stabilisation and transfer of critically ill infants; participation in outpatient and transitional care services; and contribution to multidisciplinary ward rounds and family-centred care. The post holder will support and supervise junior medical staff, contribute to teaching programmes for medical, nursing and allied health professionals, and actively participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient safety activities. The role offers experience across all areas of neonatal medicine, including neonatal intensive care, neonatal surgery, fetal medicine and tertiary specialist services. Opportunities are available for research, service development and leadership projects, supported by dedicated educational and clinical supervision within a university teaching hospital environment.
