Hosted by Doncaster Care Group – working across RDaSH

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Allied Health Professional to take on a pivotal leadership role supporting mental health inpatient services across RDaSH.

This is a Trust‑wide role, hosted within the Doncaster Care Group, but with responsibility and impact across the full RDaSH footprint. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across sites and care groups, supporting services wherever needed to deliver consistent, high‑quality AHP practice.

About the role

As AHP Lead for Mental Health Inpatients, you will play a key role in establishing consistent, high‑quality AHP pathways across our acute directorates. You will provide professional leadership for AHPs working in inpatient settings, ensuring services are aligned to best practice, national standards and local priorities.

This is a clinical leadership role with a strong operational focus. You will maintain a clinical caseload and spend a significant proportion of your time in patient‑facing activity, supporting complex cases and providing specialist input across inpatient wards.

You will work in close partnership with matrons, service managers and professional leads to develop safe, effective and innovative services, and contribute to Trust‑wide AHP leadership and delivery plans.

• Provide professional leadership for AHPs across inpatient mental health services, representing all AHP roles regardless of background

• Lead service development, pathway design and implementation of AHP delivery plans across the Trust

• Maintain a clinical caseload and provide specialist support for complex cases

• Support workforce development, supervision, and a positive culture where staff feel valued and supported

• Contribute to Trust‑wide governance, quality improvement, and performance monitoring

• Work collaboratively across care groups, influencing practice and supporting consistent standards of care
