Teaching Assistant

Location: Walsall, WS3

Daily Pay Rate: £110 - 120

Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Start Date: 01/09/2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for Early Years and supporting children with additional needs?

We are recruiting for a welcoming primary school seeking a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs as they begin their school journey. Working alongside an experienced EYFS team, you'll help create a nurturing, engaging environment where every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Responsibilities:

- Provide 1:1 and small group support for Reception pupils with SEN.

- Help children settle into school routines and develop confidence.

- Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.

- Assist with play-based learning and Early Years activities.

- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to support individual learning plans.

- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

What We're Looking For:

- A Level 3 qualification in a childcare-related subject or Supporting Teaching and Learning.

- Experience supporting children in an Early Years or primary school setting.

- Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.

- A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
