Salary: £34,070.50 - £52,850.58 (actual starting salary) – Dependant on relevant experience

In our academies we teach and support learners from Key Stages 1 – 5 who require a specialist placement. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Outreach Teacher to join our Pivot Outreach Programme (POP) provision in Wakefield.

POP is a growing provision designed to support learners with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs who may have become disengaged from education or experienced extended periods out of school. Through a combination of academic, pastoral and community-based learning experiences, we help learners rebuild confidence, overcome barriers to learning and make positive steps towards re-engaging with education.

As an Outreach Teacher, you will work be working closely with learners across Key Stages 3 & 4. You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs, while supporting learners to overcome the barriers that may be affecting their attendance, engagement and progress.

You will build positive professional relationships and plan, prepare and deliver lessons that meet individual learning needs. Working closely with learners, families, support staff and external professionals, you will create tailored learning pathways that support both academic achievement and personal development. You will use creative and flexible teaching approaches to engage learners, helping them develop the confidence, skills and motivation needed to achieve positive educational outcomes.

Experience of teaching learners with SEMH needs and ASC is essential. As the role involves regular travel across the Wakefield area, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
