Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team and support the engagement, development and growth of young people and the wider community, ensuring community voices actively influence local council decisions.

In this exciting role you will develop and implement programmes, workshops and activities that actively engage young people and the wider community, and facilitate the establishment and daily operation of a Youth Council, giving young people a platform to voice their opinions and influence local decisions.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, youth organisations and community stakeholders, and collaborate with other council departments and external organisations to support grassroots initiatives.

You will maintain accurate records of youth activities and community engagement projects, prepare operational reports for management and council meetings, and represent the Council at community meetings, forums and external networks.

The role would suit an enthusiastic, empathetic and proactive individual with experience of working directly with young people and developing youth programmes, excellent interpersonal skills, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required to match community needs.
