Picking & Sorting Operative
Location: Tarleton, PR4
Job Type: Full-Time, 33 hours per week
*ONLY A 3 DAY WORKING WEEK – 3 x 11-hour consecutive shifts (7am - 6pm)*
• Start dates available from mid-July to the beginning of August
• Seasonal role ending mid-November 2026
• Additional project expected to run from November 2026 to March 2027
• Pay: £13.00 per hour, weekly pay (PAID BREAKS)

The role:
We are exclusively in partnership with a well-established business near Tarleton and recruiting Picking & Sorting Operatives for the harvesting season. These are great opportunities for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in fast-paced agricultural environments.
These roles are to assist with end-to-end grading of fresh produce and in addition to the existing workforce. They involve working in a covered outdoor setting on grading machinery. If you enjoy physical, hands-on work in a team-focused environment, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Working hours - two shift patterns available:
• Monday to Wednesday, 7:00am – 6:00pm (3 x 11-hour shifts)
• Thursday to Saturday, 7:00am – 6:00pm (3 x 11-hour shifts)
Key responsibilities:
• Sorting raw produce to remove defective or unsuitable items.
• Operating grading machinery and maintaining quality standards.
• Removing soil, debris, stones and foreign materials from produce.
• Monitoring product quality before the next grading stage.
• Assisting with general cleaning and maintenance.
• Following all health and safety regulations.
• Rotating between work areas for a varied workload.
What's on offer:
• Breaks: Morning (15 - 20 minutes paid), Lunch (30 minutes unpaid), Afternoon (15 - 20 minutes paid), Evening (10 minutes paid).
• Weekly pay with additional hours for holiday cover and in busier periods.
• Seasonal employment through to mid-November 2026.
• Opportunity to continue on a project expected from Nov 2026 until March 2027.
