City College Peterborough is looking for an enthusiastic and learner-focused Teaching Assistant to join our Study Skills programme, supporting learners aged 16–24, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will work with a diverse group of learners, providing support both one-to-one and in small groups. Could you help learners overcome barriers to learning? Are you someone who enjoys adapting approaches to meet individual needs? If so, this could be the role for you.Working closely with Tutors, you will help develop engaging learning resources, support lesson delivery and maintain accurate learner records on ProMonitor. Can you work collaboratively as part of a supportive team while also using your initiative?

Our aim is to help learners become confident, independent and ready for their next steps in life. Do you have the empathy, resilience and commitment needed to support young people on that journey?

The successful candidate will be able to

Build positive and effective working relationships with learners

Provide high-quality support inside and outside of the classroom

Support learners with personal care in a respectful and dignified way

Communicate clearly and professionally with learners and colleagues

Work effectively with Tutors to ensure the appropriate level of challenge for all learners

Desirable criteria

Experience working in an education setting

Experience supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Experience of administering personal care
