Egg Production Manager – Shropshire – £45,000 + Accommodation
The Job:
We are recruiting for an Egg Production Manager on behalf of a well established egg producer based in Shropshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced poultry professional to take full responsibility for a commercial laying operation, leading the farm team while ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare, production performance and compliance. Working closely with senior management, you'll play a key role in driving site performance, maintaining excellent husbandry standards and delivering continuous improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day operation of the laying unit, ensuring excellent bird welfare and production performance
- Monitor flock health, egg production, feed and water consumption, mortality and overall site KPIs
- Lead, motivate and develop the farm team while maintaining a safe and productive working environment
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with Lion Code, DEFRA, APHA and Health & Safety requirements
- Coordinate biosecurity, vaccination programmes, flock turnaround and maintenance activities alongside the veterinary and management teams
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and overall farm performance

The Candidate:
- Previous experience managing a commercial laying hen or free range egg production unit
- Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry, bird welfare and commercial egg production systems
- Experience leading and developing farm teams, with excellent organisational and communication skills
- Good understanding of production KPIs, compliance, audits and accurate record keeping
- Practical approach with the ability to identify and resolve operational or equipment issues
- Full UK driving licence, with a proven track record of reliability and long term commitment within previous roles
