Summary

The post holder will provide a comprehensive Consultant-led service across HPB, EGS and Major Trauma, delivering both elective and emergency care for a complex surgical population. Duties will include undertaking major and day-case operating, outpatient and outreach clinics, and contributing to a high-volume tertiary HPB service within a well-established multidisciplinary team, including participation in regular MDT meetings and departmental planning. The appointee will be responsible for the management of inpatients and emergency admissions under their care, ensuring continuity and high standards of clinical practice, and will participate in a HPB, EGS and Major Trauma on-call rotas. In addition, the role includes active involvement in clinical governance, audit, risk management and quality improvement, alongside contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within a major teaching hospital. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to participate in research and service development, supporting ongoing innovation and growth of HPB and general surgical services at NUH.
