Summary

The post holder will participate in a rotational programme across the Community and Acute Foot Health Services at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The role has been specifically designed to provide broad clinical exposure and accelerated professional development for Band 5 podiatrists. The post holder will assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients with a wide variety of podiatric conditions whilst working alongside specialist clinicians and multidisciplinary teams. The rotational programme will provide experience across: Community Foot Health clinics. Domiciliary (home visit) services. Diabetic foot screening and management. Wound care services. Musculoskeletal podiatry. Nail surgery services. Acute inpatient podiatry. Multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinics. Offloading and casting techniques. Negative pressure wound therapy (VAC). High-risk foot and limb preservation services. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within their level of competence whilst seeking support and guidance from senior clinicians as required. They will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based podiatric care and actively participate in continuing professional development activities. Additional Responsibilities Specific to this Rotational Post Participate in planned rotations across acute and community podiatry services. Attend multidisciplinary foot team meetings and specialist clinics. Develop competencies in high-risk foot assessment, wound management, offloading and acute podiatry interventions. Undertake domiciliary visits as part of the community rotation, supported by Trust vehicles and mobile IT equipment. Engage fully with supervision, mentorship and competency development frameworks. Contribute to service improvement, audit and quality initiatives across both acute and community settings. Actively maintain a portfolio of learning and development throughout the rotational programme.
