Educato Recruitment are proud to be working with a highly regarded specialist secondary school in Bolton, seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September.

This is a full-time role for the entire academic year, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school supports pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require tailored support to help them access learning and develop independence.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive and passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives.

The Role

- Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day.

- Support pupils both in the classroom and during practical and vocational lessons.

- Help pupils develop communication, emotional regulation and social skills.

- Adapt learning activities to meet individual EHCP outcomes.

- Encourage independence while providing consistent support where required.

- Build positive relationships with pupils who may present with additional behavioural or communication needs.

- Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to deliver high-quality support.

The Ideal Candidate

- Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.

- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, MLD, SLD or communication needs is highly advantageous.

- Calm, resilient and able to remain positive in challenging situations.

- Confident using initiative and adapting to the individual needs of pupils.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
