Summary

We are looking for a reliable and supportive Personal Assistant to work with a young autistic adult who also experiences significant anxiety and mental health difficulties.

The role is to provide practical support, companionship and encouragement, helping him to participate in educational, therapeutic, social and community activities and to develop greater confidence and independence.

Responsibilities may include:

Supporting him to prepare for and attend appointments, education, activities and social opportunities.

Driving him to and from activities and appointments.

Supporting him to access the community, including shops, cafés, leisure activities and places of interest.

Helping him to develop independent-living skills, including cooking, shopping, household tasks, budgeting, using public transport and managing daily routines.

Planning and preparing healthy meals.

Providing calm and appropriate support during periods of heightened anxiety.

Helping him to plan and structure his time and take gradual steps towards greater independence.

Building a consistent, trusting and respectful working relationship.

The role is based in Dunkirk, near Faversham, with activities taking place locally and in the surrounding area.
