Job Description

We are looking for proactive, relationship-focused Recruitment Consultants to work with employers across the local area and London, helping businesses access talented individuals while creating meaningful employment opportunities for our customers.

In this role, you will act as the link between employers, jobseekers and partners, building strong relationships with local businesses to understand their workforce needs and develop practical recruitment solutions. You will play a key role in helping people move into work, remain in work and progress in their careers.

This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with employers, local partners, training providers and internal colleagues to support inclusive recruitment, respond to local labour market needs and contribute to stronger local economies.

You will spend a significant proportion of your time engaging directly with employers, building networks, identifying recruitment opportunities and influencing businesses to recruit through DWP services.

Key Accountabilities

• Build strong, practical and trusted relationships with employers to generate new opportunities for our customers. Encouraging employers to engage directly with Jobcentres through visits, talks and recruitment events.

• You will spend a significant proportion of your time engaging directly with employers, building networks, identifying recruitment opportunities and influencing businesses to recruit through DWP service

• Work with employers to design inclusive recruitment approaches that widen access to job opportunities for DWP customers

• Confident in explaining the full DWP offer to employers, including things like Work Experience, Youth Guarantee, Disability Confident, Access to Work, Sector-based Work Academy Programmes (SWAPs), Work Trials and Universal Credit flexibilities.

• Gather and analyse employer and customer insight to review and inform future activity

• Build a clear understanding of customer group, key industries in the area, and growth sectors. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand local developments including economic, social or demographic changes within your community, including information about large-scale recruitment or local redundancies.

• Collaborate with local partners, training providers and community organisations to support skills development to match future demand

• Offer candidate matching by working closely with internal colleagues, including work coaches and specialist advisers, to match and screen candidates to roles providing a proactive and tailored support to the candidate and employer

• Support work coaches and colleagues to build their confidence in the labour market and to coach colleagues to support customer with removing barriers and moving customers closer to the labour market

• Work alongside social media colleagues to promote vacancies and opportunities through digital channels, making sure everything is compliant and agreed with employers.

• Share up-to-date employer insight and opportunities so work coaches can match the right customers to the right roles.

• Share success stories, good practice and positive outcomes across teams

• Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.

• A proactive and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to improving outcomes and creating employment opportunities for others.

• The ability to coach, support and share knowledge with colleagues, helping to build confidence and capability across teams.
