Summary

To provide a comprehensive obstetric service for women and families across Coventry and Warwickshire, working with clinical colleagues to deliver high-quality care with specialist expertise in intrapartum care.The post holder will provide clinical leadership across obstetric services, working closely with Modern Matrons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, patient-centred care. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical responsibility for patients, promoting collaborative working, and supporting the development of shared clinical guidelines and standards.The role contributes to service improvement through participation in governance, audit, quality forums, and research activities, ensuring agreed actions are implemented and embedded in practice. The post holder will facilitate multidisciplinary skills drills and support continuous learning across the department.Education and training are key aspects of the role, including teaching and supervising medical students, supporting postgraduate education, and contributing to the development, supervision, and appraisal of trainee doctors in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.The successful candidate will maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across specialties, primary care, and external agencies, promoting integrated care and open communication across all staff groups.The post holder will maintain professional competence through Continuing Professional Development, participate in appraisal processes, comply with data protection and information governance requirements, and adhere to all Trust policies and professional standards. They will contribute to the delivery of a safe, high-quality maternity service that supports clinical excellence, innovation, and positive outcomes for women and families.
